Job Title: Information Technology Specialist

This is a full-time role for an Information Technology Specialist at Subnet Systems Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for network administration, troubleshooting, network security, and providing customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to customer support tickets and provide timely resolutions.
  • Manage client Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams to ensure seamless collaboration and productivity.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities to protect client data and systems.
  • Maintain, monitor, and support client IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
  • Regularly test and validate client backups to ensure data integrity and recovery capabilities.
  • Administer Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and associated services to ensure secure and efficient network operations.
  • Educate employees on cybersecurity best practices and protocols to enhance overall security posture.
  • Provide after-hours technical support when required to ensure business continuity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and technology upgrades to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Liaise with vendors and external partners to manage hardware and software procurement.
Qualifications:
  • Legally authorized to permanently work in Canada.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle or transportation.
  • Experience in an I.T. business environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work on on-call rotations, including nights and weekends.

Required Skills:

  • Microsoft Office 365 Cloud Services (Azure, Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
  • Networking (LAN/WAN, VPN, firewalls, switching, wireless, proactive monitoring).
  • Cybersecurity (M365, backups, vulnerability scanning, EDR, DNS filtering, etc.).
  • Microsoft Domain (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy).
  • Troubleshoot complex problems related to the operation of computer hardware or software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work independently with minimal direction and as an effective team member.
  • Education: 3+ years post-secondary education in Computer Information Systems; or equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • Information technology certifications are an asset.
