Responsibilities
Your key areas of responsibility will include leading research, ideation, and creation of application interactions, partnering with cross-functional teams, mapping out user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, diving deep into customer/user experience to develop deep insights about user behaviors, conducting interviews, and collecting feedback from end users and subject matter experts, working with cross-functional teams to design, build, and roll-out products that deliver on the Geotab vision and strategy, using design principles, as well as existing visual frameworks to produce designs that are visually cohesive with the rest of Geotab's products, designing web applications using industry best practices and existing visual frameworks, tracking design features and fixes from different subject matter experts, maintaining compliance with AODA guidelines for site accessibility, conducting concept and usability testing and gathering feedback, creating personas through user research and data, defining the right interaction model and evaluating its success, illustrating design ideas using storyboards, process flows, and sitemaps, designing graphic user interface elements, like menus, tabs, and widgets, building page navigation buttons and search fields, conducting layout adjustments based on user feedback, and more.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need 3+ years of experience in User Research and Product Design within a product-based company, 2+ years of experience in an individual contributor role on a product, experience or service design team, deep knowledge of product design, including common interaction patterns used and associated trade-offs, and best practices for responsive web applications, proficiency in UI design and using tools like Figma, Sketch, InVision, Principle, etc., ability to lead all aspects of the user-centered design process from conception to completion, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
