Arcadis is a global leader in consultancy and design for natural and built assets. Currently, we are seeking a Project Director to join our Transportation team in Ontario.

About the Role

As a Project Director, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of transportation projects, ensuring they meet time, quality, budgetary, and health and safety targets. You will also manage all aspects of client relationships to ensure delivery meets or exceeds client expectations.

The initial focus of this role will be on an alternative delivery project within the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA). Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting project leads and key project staff in areas such as rail and transit project delivery, including commuter rail, bus rapid transit, and light rail.
  • Preparing status reports on projects for review with the Project Director and advising on corrective action plans if necessary.
  • Continuously monitoring and managing costs, including procurements, labor, and other costs against the project budget.
  • Reporting progress as required to record the advancement of the project.
  • Coordinating the development of project packages, including scope of work, supporting documentation, and cost estimates.
  • Maintaining an overview of the commercial aspects of the project, including contract management, invoicing, debt, and client management.
  • Building and managing stakeholder relationships with municipalities, provincial agencies, transit agencies, utilities, and other key stakeholders.
  • Planning and facilitating workshops, working groups, meetings, and focus groups using hybrid methods.
  • Supporting change management activities and operational readiness activities as needed.
  • Coordinating with the Quality/Safety Manager to ensure quality and safety objectives are met and effective project control is maintained.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer license in the Province of Ontario.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in managing/leading rail and transit projects in a large matrix organization, with technical lead interface and stakeholder engagement.
  • Experience in managing client relationships and knowledge of alternate project delivery methods (P3, DB) and teaming arrangements with contractors and consultants.
  • Knowledge of the transit, transportation, and urban planning sectors.

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
