About the Opportunity

As an Electrical Motor Technician at Wajax, you will be part of a dedicated team of mechanical professionals working on the assembly and installation of various types of coils. Your primary responsibility will be to wind, assemble, and install coils, ensuring they meet the required specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Wind, assemble, and install various types of coils
  • Test and adjust repaired products to ensure proper functioning
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints
  • Perform static or dynamic balancing of armatures or rotors
  • Assemble stators or armatures for heavy-duty electric motors
  • Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators, and other components
  • Test and repair or replace faulty wiring or components in electrical switchgear
  • Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance

Requirements

  • Trade certification, Electric Motor Systems Technician (EMST) Trade Certification would be an asset
  • 5+ years of work experience
  • Knowledge of welding or brazing components, reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and other technical diagrams, and instructing apprentices
