Survey Field Technician

Are you passionate about working outdoors and contributing to the success of our projects? As a Survey Field Technician with GeoVerra, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our survey operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the organization and maintenance of tools, equipment, and materials at project sites, offices, and crew vehicles.
- Support a positive and professional team atmosphere and act as a positive ambassador for the company when working with external stakeholders.
- Assist the Crew Chief in achieving project timelines and deliverables.
- Complete mandatory safety training and practice competent operation of all equipment and tasks.
- Adhere to the safety requirements of the client, OH&S, and the GeoVerra Safety program on all projects.
- Actively participate in Emergency Response Planning, Hazard Assessment, Job Safety Analysis development, daily tailgate meetings, and comply with all safety requirements.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in surveying or other related types of work involving the outdoors is essential.
- Experience working on pipelines and/or pipeline integrity is considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly for the client, project, and GeoVerra requirements and to respond to situations that occur outside traditional working hours.
- Commitment to respond to situations that occur outside traditional working hours.
- Capacity to take direction and communicate effectively.
- An understanding of survey methodologies is considered an asset.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license and the ability to provide a clean driver's abstract are required.
- Completed training and valid tickets in First Aid, H2S, and CSTS safety training are an asset.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace is required.
Working Conditions:
- Out-of-town work, including shift work, and frequent travel are required.
- Ability to carry, lift, and push up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
