Job Summary

The Clinical Resource Nurse plays a crucial role in the coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care delivery to a psychiatric clientele. This position requires a strong commitment to providing therapeutically competent, ethical, and safe care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Registration with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Three years' experience in psychiatric nursing care
  • Certificate in psychiatric nursing / mental health (CNA) would be an asset
  • Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certificate
  • Good knowledge of computer applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Training in non-violent crisis intervention or commitment to take such training within set timelines
  • Prevention and Management of Suicidal Behaviours in a Psychiatric Hospital Setting or commitment to take such training within set timelines
  • Ability to manage stressful situations and set priorities
  • Proven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve conflicts
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Initiative and sound judgment
  • Ability to teach and transmit knowledge to others
  • Individual or group facilitation skills
  • Ability to act as a change agent
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance)
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy, and organizational values
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network
