About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Auto Body Instructor to join our team at NAIT. As a Continuous Instructor, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and training to our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver curriculum for Auto Body Repair Program
- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory, and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviews, and course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
- Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
- Respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions
- Maintain and/or submit program/student records accurately and promptly
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021, NAIT's Strategic Plan, and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Completion of Auto Body Technician Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent including Inter-Provincial Red Seal required
- Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent
- Teaching experience an asset
