About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Sawmill Labourer to join our team at Ben Hokum and Son Limited. As a Sawmill Labourer, you will play a crucial role in the operation of our sawmill, assisting other processing workers in the efficient operation of various woodworking machines and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Assist other processing workers in the operation of various woodworking machines and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and productivity.
  • Scrap Removal: Remove scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean machines and immediate work areas, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Clean work area, maintaining a tidy and organized workspace.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this position.
  • Work Setting: The successful candidate will work in a sawmill environment, exposed to various woodworking machines and equipment.
  • Physical Demands: The role requires repetitive tasks and physically demanding work, with the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Experience with Picaroon and Shovel equipment is an asset.
  • Personal Suitability: The successful candidate must demonstrate punctuality and a strong work ethic.
