Our client, a prominent design engineering firm, is seeking an accomplished Associate Director to lead their Electrical team in Vancouver, BC and Toronto, ON offices. This exciting opportunity requires a seasoned professional with exceptional leadership skills, extensive experience in project management, and in-depth knowledge of electrical building services.

Job DescriptionThe successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Preparing and managing the development of system engineering concepts, including design briefs and concept reports.
  • Reviewing and managing designs in terms of construction budgets, as well as existing installations and their impact on projects.
  • Ensuring proper coordination of documents with internal and external project teams, including architects, interior designers, and other disciplines.

As a seasoned leader, you will also be responsible for promoting and enforcing company standards related to project administration, documentation, and processes such as total quality management. Additionally, you will develop and/or improve processes and procedures for Project Management to enhance efficiency.


Requirements
  • Possess 8 or more years of project engineering experience in the field of electrical building services.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and the ability to work independently.
  • Show the ability to work in a complex environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients.
  • Demonstrate experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects.
  • Be knowledgeable about provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES, and NFPA standards.

LEED certification or experience implementing sustainable design (LEED projects) is considered an asset. The successful candidate must have a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.


Compensation and BenefitsWe offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional benefits include health and dental coverage, retirement savings plan, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
