As a trusted advisor, you will assist lenders and debtors with managing challenging financial situations, providing strategic, operational and financial advice to help clients navigate through times of financial distress.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the delivery of corporate insolvency services, including identifying strategic, operational and financial challenges, recommending immediate stabilizing activities, and providing operational and performance improvement advice.
- Participate in and assist in the administration of insolvency appointments, including bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, CCAAs, liquidations, etc.
- Develop relationships within the insolvency community and assist with preparing and reviewing relevant statutory documentation associated with various types of insolvency proceedings.
- Identify innovative ways to deliver added value to stakeholders and ensure their needs are met.
- Prepare required documents to initiate or administer statutory appointments, including related to initial filings, claims processes, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is considered an asset
- Working towards a Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) designation
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in Ascend insolvency software considered an asset
- 1-5 years of insolvency experience; professional services experience outside of insolvency will also be considered
