**Job Summary**

We are seeking a skilled Project Estimator - Woodwork Specialist to join our growing organization. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for understanding technical specifications, evaluating costs, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure the success of delivered projects.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assess technical project specifications (display fixtures and commercial furniture) considering technical aspects, including opening and closing mechanisms, assembly systems, etc.
  • Utilize estimation software to prepare detailed cost estimates, taking into account materials, labor, equipment, and mechanical components.
  • Collaborate and communicate with the team to capture required technical requirements in cost estimates.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, suggesting cost-effective solutions that meet quality standards and client expectations.
  • Regularly communicate with project stakeholders to clarify technical specifications in the quote.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain information on mechanical components and associated costs.
  • Identify potential risks related to items in quotes and develop strategies to minimize impacts on the project.
  • Maintain accurate records of costs, expenses, and communications related to mechanical components of projects.
  • Participate in the bid closure process.

**Requirements**

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of experience/education relevant to the position.
  • Previous experience in commercial woodwork project estimation, with knowledge of mechanical aspects.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with materials (acrylic, metal, and plywood) and woodwork fabrication techniques.
  • Bilingualism in French and English, both verbally and in writing.
