English Editor Job Description

MDPI is seeking a meticulous and dedicated English Editor to support scholars publishing their research. As a key member of our English Editing Department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the clarity, consistency, and grammatical accuracy of our manuscripts.

Responsibilities:
  • Edit scholarly articles submitted to MDPI journals to a publication-ready standard.
  • Apply knowledge of the English language and the context of the manuscript to make the English clear, consistent, and grammatically correct, communicating the author's message without changing their voice unnecessarily.
  • Ensure manuscripts align with MDPI's house rules.
  • Meet tight deadlines and hit targets with a high degree of consistency.
  • Take on additional roles, such as training colleagues within and outside of the department and editing corporate material.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree in any subject.
  • Expert knowledge of the English language.
  • Experience editing, translating, or publishing.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an international team.
  • Eligible to work in Canada.
