Railway Infrastructure Specialist

As a Track Inspector at AECOM, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of railway infrastructure projects. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional results, you will work closely with our clients to monitor and inspect track construction, destressing, and welding of rail, as well as inspecting the quality of materials used on-site.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and inspect track construction, including new tracks, turnouts, and other track construction-related work
- Evaluate the progress of projects to determine if time schedules and payment requirements are being met
- Review and monitor contractor safety programs to assess compliance with client requirements
- Coordinate with project managers to prepare staffing schedules for track inspection teams
- Inspect third-party track work constructed during track closures to ensure safe reopening
- Conduct in-service track inspections prior to reopening tracks for service
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 8 years of experience working within the Railway Right of Way on the construction and maintenance of continuous welded rails and jointed track systems
- Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) and valid Track Inspection Guidelines (TIG) Inspector's Card qualifications
- Driver's license and vehicle required for site visits
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Skills, with excellent writing and analytical abilities
We welcome applicants with:
- Technical College Diploma or higher
- Ideal 15+ years of experience in heavy rail track construction and/or heavy rail maintenance duties
- eRailsafe certification for work on CN and CP property
- Metrolinx Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification
