Job Overview

The Salvation Army is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Program Instructor to join our team. As a key member of our program, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.

Job Description

This part-time position requires 25 hours of work per week, scheduled from Monday to Friday, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. The successful candidate will promote opportunities for social skills development, life skills education, and community participation activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a role model, advocating for the rights and interests of individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Foster independence in daily living skills, including social skills, life skills, and community participation.
  • Provide support in personal development through individualized program planning.
  • Maintain the safety and health care of program participants.
  • Administer medication, document records, and maintain effective communication.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in human services or related field, preferably working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office and email.
  • A valid Ontario Class G driver's license and satisfactory driving abstract.
  • Standard First Aid/CPR certification and NCI training.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 months to 1-year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and mental health challenges.
  • Experience in implementing Individual Support Plans (ISP) and community outreach.
Salary and Benefits:
