Job Summary: We are seeking eight (8) full-time Youth and Family Counsellors I/II to join our team. As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in the therapeutic journey of our clients, fostering growth, healing, and well-being.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain a structured environment that promotes opportunities for children and young people to engage in therapeutic processes and activities.
  • Teach and assist young people in acquiring essential skills related to daily living, routines, and personal hygiene habits.
  • Develop and revise individual care plans and daily goals in collaboration with other professionals and resource people.
  • Provide opportunities for young people to learn about and connect with their culture and spirituality, including engagement with Elders and participation in cultural activities.
  • Initiate, organize, monitor, and participate in group activities as part of the overall treatment plan.
  • Lead therapeutic processes and interventions for children and their families, including case management responsibilities.
  • Intervene in crisis situations with young people, utilizing non-abusive restraint practices as necessary.
  • Participate actively in supervisory meetings, team meetings, retreats, planning sessions, and designated in-service training.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will require:
  • A diploma or undergraduate degree in Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Addictions and Mental Health, Peer Support, Social Work, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Two years of experience working with vulnerable populations within various systems.
  • Must have a Class 5 driver's license and own transportation.
