As a key member of our commercial actuarial team, we are seeking an experienced Pricing Actuary or Senior Pricing Actuary to support our pricing transformation initiatives and drive profitable growth for Aviva's commercial insurance.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization to design pricing solutions, develop predictive models, and implement changes to ratings. With a strong background in pricing and analytics, you will be responsible for reviewing pricing structures, completing segmentation strategies, and developing positive relationships with business partners to achieve strategic objectives.

We offer a competitive rewards package, including a base salary of $95,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on experience, plus eligibility for annual bonus, retirement savings, share plan, health benefits, personal wellness, and volunteer opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pricing transformation initiatives across commercial insurance (Aviva Business & GCS) that align with overarching CI strategies.
  • Review and optimize pricing structures, including rate reviews for commercial products.
  • Develop predictive models in partnership with Data Science to improve the accuracy of pricing algorithms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key breakthroughs for projects and accurately forecast time required to reach milestones.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders at head office and in the field.
  • Coach junior staff and act as a technical expert and mentor for analysts.
  • Contribute to the actuarial community at Aviva.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, or Statistics, or other related subjects.
  • Minimum of 3 years of P&C work experience, preferably in pricing.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 CAS exams.
  • Strong teammate who is also able to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong technical skills in pricing and predictive analytics.
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and to influence.
  • Strong communication skills.
