Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Service
- Develop and implement efficient food preparation and service procedures to meet customer demand and maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other support staff.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Train and develop kitchen staff in job duties, food safety and sanitation procedures, and other relevant skills.
- Provide coaching and feedback to kitchen staff to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
- Inventory Management and Control
- Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for meal preparation, ensuring accurate inventory management and minimizing waste.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, ensuring that stock is maintained at optimal levels.
- Quality Control and Assurance
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, including food safety and presentation.
- Conduct regular quality control checks to identify areas for improvement.
- Financial Management
- Prepare and manage kitchen budgets, including labor costs, inventory, and other expenses.
- Monitor and control kitchen expenses, ensuring that costs are minimized and budgets are met.
- Health and Safety
- Ensure that kitchen staff are aware of and comply with health and safety procedures and protocols.
- Conduct regular health and safety inspections to identify areas for improvement.
- Education and Experience
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen management or supervisory role.
