Job Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. is seeking an experienced Piping Designer to join our team. As a Piping Designer, you will be responsible for creating and developing 3D models, piping designs, and layout drawings for oil and gas processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out moderate-to-advanced tasks related to layout and design of process equipment modules
  • Create and develop 3D models, and piping designs
  • Assist in the creation and development of detailed design of structural steel skids and pipe supports
  • Revises existing designs based on vendor drawings and changes from stress analysis updates
  • Manage design information and assemble checking packages
  • Create and develop layout drawings and detailing of piping
  • Produce piping isometrics
  • Produce structural drawings
  • Produce fabrication drawings
  • Receive and review design data and vendor information
  • Calculate piping components and pre-order materials
  • Receive and incorporate design specifics from Engineering and other disciplines
  • Collaborate with Piping Checkers, Mechanical Engineering, and Fabrication Shop
  • Provide weekly progress and status reports to Lead Designer
  • Assist design leads and senior designers as required
  • Assist and provide project-related training to junior personnel as required

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT), or Process Piping Design (PPD) certificate, or recognized equivalent combination of training and experience in piping design
  • 5+ years' experience assisting in the creation of 3D models, and general layout drawings
  • Strong design skills in piping systems, structural supports, and pressure vessels
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2020 or higher
  • Strong skills in Cadworx 2020 or higher
  • Fabrication shop designing experience is an asset
  • Understanding of design and drafting practices for piping components
  • Knowledge and familiarity of Navisworks
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office
