We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge, B.C. This is a full scope position available until approximately December 31st, 2025 or Return of Incumbent.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
- Provide a supportive environment for patients, promoting their involvement in healthcare decisions and respecting their personal choices.
- Contribute to the development and ongoing changes to individualized care plans, attending multidisciplinary care planning meetings and family conferences.
- Deliver nursing care according to identified policies and procedures, technology, and FHA standards, evaluating outcomes and recording observations.
- Perform admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients according to agency operating policies and procedures.
- Document and update all relevant care and procedure information to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Operate and maintain effective functioning equipment related to patient care, such as bathtubs, scales, and mechanical lifts.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Assist in the orientation of new staff, students, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities, education sessions, team conferences, meetings, and committees.
- Graduate of a recognized practical nursing program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize work and implement a plan of care.
- Knowledge and competencies to work at full scope of practice as currently required by the BCCNM, including administering medications.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
