Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide ongoing respiratory care to patients with a variety of illnesses and diseases, including acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and quality of life.
  • Consult and confer with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and guidelines to provide best-in-class care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of excellence.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada Credentialing Exam.
  • Eligibility for membership with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and BC Society of Respiratory Therapists.
  • Broad knowledge of current respiratory care theory and practices within a client-centered model of care.
  • Basic knowledge of research process and methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and implement care plans, assess client responses, and respond appropriately.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare staff.
