Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Executive Residency by Best Western. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as operating industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and dirt.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Housekeeping: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures, and clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • Administration: Co-ordinate, assign, and review work, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Experience an asset.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: MS Outlook.
  • Security and Safety: Criminal record check and basic security clearance.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, fast-paced environment, attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, large workload, and tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, flexibility, initiative, organized, efficient interpersonal skills, team player, values and ethics, and punctuality.
