Job Title: Executive Director, Forestry Central Services

Are you a seasoned leader with a passion for forestry and parks management? Do you have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving strategic initiatives? We are seeking an Executive Director to join our team at the Government of Alberta.

About the Role

The Executive Director, Forestry Central Services will lead a diverse team of approximately 100 government professionals to oversee several programs, including forestry procurement, financial reporting, human resources administration, and grants administration. The ideal candidate will have extensive senior management experience, related technical knowledge, and highly skilled at forming and maintaining positive relationships with partners and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of professionals to deliver high-quality programs and services
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve ministry goals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including indigenous and municipal leaders, industry stakeholders, and other government agencies
  • Provide strategic advice to the Assistant Deputy Minister on matters related to forestry and parks management
