About the Role:

The Manager, Construction, Firehouse Subs Canada West will play a critical role in supporting the development of new stores and remodels in the Canada West region. This key position will be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of construction projects, from start to finish, and will work closely with internal partners to drive business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with design and construction teams to develop and implement construction processes that drive growth and excellence in the region.
  • Coordinate new store development and remodels with area franchise leads, divisional development leads, and company restaurant partners to ensure seamless execution.
  • Direct all phases of construction project management, including due diligence, schedule and budget development, planning and design, FF&E procurement, and store move coordination.
  • Serve as the Firehouse Subs liaison with all departments and outside contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Work with regional leadership to design store plans and act as a company liaison to general contractors, vendors, and the construction community.
  • Manage the regional equipment buyer and equipment buying process to ensure timely purchases and deliveries.
  • Supervise and perform all aspects of construction administration, including negotiating contracts, change orders, project schedules, purchase order management, invoicing, and project closeout documentation.
  • Evaluate existing and potential consultants and contractors in the Firehouse Subs Business Partner Network.
  • Provide reporting and analysis to track franchise construction performance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, architecture, or equivalent construction experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant construction experience, with QSR or casual dining restaurant experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing construction budgets and tracking to actual costs.
  • Familiarity with store equipment packages, planning, and operations.
  • Proficiency in computer estimating, scheduling, and database applications.
  • Basic understanding of restaurant food operations.
  • Ability to travel throughout the region, with flexibility to work different hours, including early morning and late night work.
  • Exceptional human relationship skills, with the ability to handle challenging situations.
  • Ability to work with design consultants to facilitate development and construction drawings in an effective and timely manner.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • High proficiency in written and verbal communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Excel.
  • Honesty, high integrity, personal accountability, and a passion for the success of the brand and the team.
  • Travel required approximately 80%.
