Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Clinician, Indigenous Health MHSU to join our team. As a key member of our Indigenous Health team, you will provide culturally sensitive and trauma-informed care to Indigenous clients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide initial screening and assessment of referrals from various sources, including healthcare providers, family members, and community agencies.
  2. Develop and implement recovery-oriented treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their natural supports.
  3. Provide short-term counseling and case management services to clients and their families.
  4. Facilitate client access to community resources and services, including residential programs, family therapy, and vocational programs.
  5. Develop and deliver education and training programs for clients, families, and healthcare professionals on Indigenous mental health and substance use issues.
  6. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  7. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to clients and their families.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Counselling Psychology or Social Work.
  • Two years of recent experience working with clients and families with mental illness and substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of Indigenous health approaches, protocol, and cultural issues.
  • Eligible for registration with relevant professional associations.
