Advanced Medical Solutions Inc, a leading provider of air ambulance services, is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join its ACCESS Air Ambulance Program. As a critical care flight nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the safe transportation of patients across 33 NWT communities.

Highlights of the Role

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' emergency or critical care experience as a Registered Nurse, with previous experience in an air ambulance environment being an asset. A current RN license, CPR, ACLS, ITLS, PALS, NRP, and STABLE certifications are also required.

About the Role

As a critical care flight nurse, your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning patient care following established guidelines and policies
  • Coordination of equipment and staff to transport patients safely and effectively
  • Monitoring and managing patient care during all stages of the transport process
  • Complete and concise patient documentation
  • Effective communication with all members of the healthcare team involved in the transport and care of the patient
  • Maintaining patient confidentiality and respecting the rights of the patient
  • Identifying, intervening, and responding appropriately during crisis situations
  • Recognizing personal strengths and limitations and seeking guidance as required
  • Attending educational opportunities and maintaining all necessary certifications
  • Promoting a harmonious working environment and utilizing appropriate communication techniques during professional interactions
