Senior Estimator Job Description

Logel Homes is seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in the management of tenders, contracts, purchase orders, budgets, and other duties related to the estimating department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review preliminary construction drawings to identify potential efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Prequalify trades and suppliers to ensure competency and reliability.
  • Build and manage trade lists for each project, ensuring at least 2 qualified trades/suppliers per scope of work.
  • Creation of bid packages, including quantity takeoffs, tender forms, and compilation of tender drawings.
  • Management of tender pricing process, including negotiation with trades to ensure best possible pricing.
  • Detailed evaluation of quotes to ensure pricing is "apples to apples" and includes everything required in the scope of work.
  • Contract Management, including contract compilation, administration, and distribution of final contracts to applicable trades.
  • Assist the Estimating Manager with analyzing historical data to create budgets for future projects.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal).
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and plan reading & technical knowledge.
  • Strong ability to develop interpersonal relationships with internal staff and external trades/suppliers.
