ROLE SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at TransAlta.

As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely cost estimates for renewable energy projects.

Your role will involve working closely with project teams to develop and maintain detailed cost estimates, conducting site visits to assess project conditions, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure that estimates meet client requirements.

In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach and mentor junior estimators.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates for renewable energy projects.
  2. Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
  3. Collaborate with project teams to ensure that estimates meet client requirements.
  4. Coach and mentor junior estimators to develop their skills and knowledge.
  5. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure that estimates are accurate and timely.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as engineering, construction management, or business.
  2. At least 8 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  3. Proven track record of delivering accurate and timely cost estimates.
  4. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to coach and mentor junior estimators.
  5. Experience with estimating software, such as HCSS Heavy Bid.
