Key Responsibilities

As a Research Assistant at Island Health, you will be responsible for applying data collection methods and statistical analysis to support research projects. You will also assist in the application of graphic arts and presentation methods, and provide training to others on the use of software common to the organization.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education equivalent to two years, including courses in research methods, statistical analysis, project management, and graphic arts layout and design.
  • Three years of experience in data collection methods and statistical analysis, supplemented by an additional year in graphic arts and presentation methods, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Advanced use of computer operating systems, software packages, including project management, word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to type 50 wpm, work independently, and problem-solve minor equipment issues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  • Ability to monitor and implement work projects with limited supervision, and maintain sustained attention to detail.
  • Ability to make complex mathematical calculations under pressure.
