About the Role

The Senior Manager, Internal Communications will develop and execute strategic global internal communications that drive employee engagement and understanding of the organization's growth strategy across offices in Toronto, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mumbai.

This role requires an experienced and passionate internal communications professional with excellent writing skills, expertise in working with senior executives, and a talent for understanding and reflecting diverse voices in communication.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Executive Communications
  • Develop and execute leading executive communications programs in support of desired business outcomes.
  • Draft a wide range of executive communications, including memos, speaking remarks, speeches, and potentially social content, ensuring clear, concise, and consistent messaging.
  • Monitor for and integrate best practices to maximize the impact of communications.
  • Maintain a communication schedule to align efforts across the organization.
  • Contribute research and thinking into key global themes of relevance on which executives can speak out.
Internal Communications
  • Contribute communication strategies to drive culture, growth, and impact priorities.
  • Develop content for various channels, including the intranet, email, and other digital platforms.
  • Measure the impact of communication efforts post-implementation and adjust as necessary.
  • Contribute to the implementation of best practice internal communications capabilities in the form of events, digital, written communication channels.
  • Actively participate on cross-functional project teams and proactively bring forward new ideas and insights.
Respond to Research Findings
  • Develop insights from research efforts that allow the organization to stay ahead of employee communications needs.
  • Stay up-to-date on employee communications standard methodologies and use survey results and senior management feedback to fine-tune channels and approach.
RequirementsQualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in communications, journalism, or a related field, or a post-graduate certificate in public relations.
  • Previous experience in the Investments sector is required.
  • 10+ years of progressive communications experience, with a focus on internal communications.
  • Ability to see the big picture and tailor leadership messaging to different stakeholders as needed.
  • Outstanding writing and editing expertise, with an emphasis on Investments-focused communications.
  • Proven ability to support and counsel senior leaders.
  • Client-focused, motivated, proactive, forward-thinking, organized, and diplomatic.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and demands.
  • A track record of conceiving, developing, and executing strategic internal communication plans that drive measurable business results.
  • Experience with new technologies and communication methods for broad employee bases (web-based training, new town hall formats, Teams, etc.).
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with confidential information and senior executives.
  • Confidence and sound judgment to effectively coach and advise senior executives on the best communication approaches and messaging to achieve business outcomes.
  • The ability to work in areas with few guidelines or precedents, requiring independent decision-making and strategic planning.
