About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Educational Assistant to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As an Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in achieving their Individual Education Plan (IEP) objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students
  • Provide academic support and reinforcement of concepts to students with special needs
  • Assist with social integration and behavior management in the classroom and during recess and lunch periods
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to teachers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement student plans
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent, supplemented by graduation from an Education Assistant Program
  • Current CPI (Crisis, Prevention, and Intervention) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent related work experience with special needs students
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
