Culinary Specialist

The Culinary Specialist is a key member of the Sunrise Senior Living team, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety in our kitchens. This role requires a strong background in food production, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities- Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve meals in a timely manner, adhering to established recipes and menus.
- Inventory Management: Utilize production sheets to accurately record food production quantities and cooking, holding, and cooling temperatures.
- Quality Control: Ensure high standards for food taste and quality are upheld at all times.
- Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain clean and organized kitchen, storage, and work areas, and complete assigned cleaning duties.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all cooking equipment in a safe and working order, and report any issues promptly.
- Team Collaboration: Actively participate and commit to working toward team goals, and demonstrate our Team Member Credo in daily interactions.
- Education and Experience: One (1) year job-related experience in food preparation, including experience in a restaurant, hotel, or other similar environment.
- Certifications and Training: Maintain the following certifications and ongoing training and re-education as required by Sunrise and regulations and laws as applicable: CPR Certificate, First Aid Certificate, ServSafe Manager Certificate, and Local Health Department Food Handler Card.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational and time management skills, good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
