Job Summary

Ledwidge Lumber is seeking a skilled Wood Processing Labourer to join our team. As a key member of our sawmill operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of wood products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Feed conveyors, hoppers, saws, and drying machines to optimize wood processing.
  • Load chips, sulphur, and processing materials as required.
  • Sort, pile, and transport wood products to meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Remove scrap lumber and wood chips for reprocessing.
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Work Environment

As a Wood Processing Labourer, you will work in a fast-paced sawmill environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and odours. You will be required to lift up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks.

Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma is required, but experience is an asset.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, and hand-eye coordination are essential for this role.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide support for newcomers and refugees.
  • Commitment to creating a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers and members of visible minorities.
Work Term and Language

This is a permanent position with a 30-45 hour workweek. English is the primary language of communication in this role.
