Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Academic Department Head to join our team at the University of Manitoba. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing a team of faculty members, overseeing departmental operations, and contributing to the development of academic programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of faculty members to achieve departmental goals and objectives
- Oversee departmental operations, including budgeting, planning, and resource allocation
- Contribute to the development of academic programs, including curriculum design and implementation
- Collaborate with other departments and units to advance the university's mission and goals
- Provide leadership and guidance to faculty members on research, teaching, and service
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in academic administration
- Excellent leadership and management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
