Job Opportunity: Early Childhood Educator

We are seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to infant, toddler, and preschool children.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide play-based education that supports enhanced learning and cognitive, emotional, and social development in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act and the policies established by the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
  • Use a strong working knowledge and application of How Does Learning Happen, Ontario's Pedagogy for the Early Years, and the College of ECEs Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice in daily practice.
  • Provide a safe and caring environment for the needs of infant, toddler, and preschool children.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • A thorough understanding of early childhood development and its application in the infant, toddler, and preschool environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal with parents and involved community services.
  • The ability to use tact and discretion, demonstrate sensitivity to individual needs of children in a multi-cultural environment, and adapt well to changing demands.
  • Registration with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required, as well as a minimum of one year of related experience and valid First Aid certification/CPR.
