Senior Tax Analyst Job Description

As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our tax compliance obligations are met. Working closely with internal teams and external advisors, you will be responsible for managing tax filings, coordinating with stakeholders, and staying informed on tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage tax compliance and reporting for HOOPP and its subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Prepare and submit Canadian income tax returns and related filings, adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain tax-related information and ensure seamless communication
  • Review tax returns for completeness and accuracy, identifying areas for improvement
  • Interact with tax authorities and manage tax payments and refunds, ensuring compliance with tax laws
  • Stay up-to-date on tax laws and regulations, integrating changes into tax filings and ensuring alignment with company policies
  • Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure deliverables meet expectations and standards
  • Identify tax risks and opportunities for improvement, providing recommendations to senior management
  • Assist in special projects as required, leveraging expertise in tax compliance and reporting

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of tax experience, with a strong background in Canadian tax laws and regulations
  • University degree in business, finance, or commerce, with a focus on taxation
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong understanding of tax software and systems
