About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Professional/Regional Manager to join our team in Yellowknife, NT. As a key member of our environmental team, you will be responsible for leading environmental investigations and remediation projects in the Territories.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior project support for environmental investigation and remediation projects, including technical, project management, and regulatory aspects.
  • Develop and review technical documents, including reports and plans.
  • Lead safety initiatives, participate in field meetings, and oversee subcontractors to ensure safe work practices.
  • Participate in field activities, including work oversight and technical inspections.
  • Coordinate and administer field activities, including contract close-out and reporting.
  • Assess and implement remedial options, including system operation and maintenance.
  • Prepare and review remedial action plans, remedial options analysis, and other related documents.
  • Communicate regularly with regulators, clients, and AECOM technical staff/project managers.
  • Coordinate and own subcontractor, sub-consultant, and project partner relationships.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or sciences discipline.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the Northwest Territories (or eligible for licensing).
  • 6 years' experience as an environmental consultant, industry representative, or regulator with expertise in contaminated site investigation, remediation/reclamation, and waste management.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the Canadian North and on federally-regulated project sites.
  • Experience working with land and water boards.
  • 10 years' experience in environmental site assessment and remediation.
  • Experience with developing and preparing environmental site assessments, remedial action plans, and remedial design packages.
  • Experience with remediation projects, including contractor supervision, construction oversight, and contract administration.
  • Ability to prepare reports that present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of territorial and federal environmental regulations, as well as program-specific guidelines.
  • Physically capable of completing field work in remote project settings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
