The Business Technology team at BCLC collaborates with cutting-edge technology to develop innovative solutions for our clients. This engaged, innovative group works in digital enablement, product delivery services, technology platform enablement, enterprise services, integrity, and operations. We deliver seamless experiences through the purchase and validation of lottery tickets at over 3500 retailers, manage a complex network of 12,000 slot machines and electronic table games across the province, and provide the backbone for our eGaming platform, among other things.
We have offices in Kamloops and Vancouver, with the option for 100% remote work from within British Columbia.
About the Role:
This role will focus on working with Developers and Operations staff to design, implement, and maintain Integration services in our Lottery platform. As a key member of the Lottery Games Team, you will proactively resolve complex technical issues and apply innovative thinking to develop and deliver solutions. You will act as a consultative partner, providing expertise, analysis, and advice to internal stakeholders within BCLC. Collaborating with external partners in a multivendor environment, you will ensure the efficient and effective provision of Lottery products and services.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop integration solutions within a multivendor services environment.
- Collaborate with business and IT personnel to integrate new requirements into software solutions.
- Work with vendors and the QA department on testing and user acceptance.
- Deliver technical solutions to projects and review technical design documents from vendors.
- Act as a technical lead on key integration projects.
Qualifications and Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A university degree or certification in Computer Science or equivalent experience;
- 3-5 years of progressively more responsible experience in a programming/analysis environment, with at least three years at a programmer/analyst level;
- Experience working on large projects with high levels of integration;
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java Spring Boot, .Net Framework, SQL, XML, HTML, and containerization technologies like OpenShift and Docker.
- Familiarity with Agile processes and ceremonies.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Estimated Salary: $83,545 per annum, with potential for bonus based on performance.
