Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist II to join our team at Prince Rupert Regional Hospital. As a key member of our laboratory department, you will be responsible for performing laboratory work and related duties in various areas, including Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Microbiology, Accessioning, Phlebotomy, and gram stains.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory work and related duties under the direction of the Chief Medical Technologist.
  • Work in a team environment to ensure accurate and efficient laboratory results.
  • Develop and implement quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure high-quality laboratory results.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest laboratory techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program.
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS.
  • Three to four years' recent related experience.
  • Supervisory training and experience preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
