Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, taking into account the patient's medical history, current condition, and treatment goals.
  • Monitor patient progress, identify potential complications, and take appropriate action to prevent or mitigate them.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Current certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize care for an individual patient or group of patients, and delegate care appropriately.
  • Proficient in the use of computer software and applications, including Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Recent, related experience in the applicable clinical area.
  • Knowledge of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and the Licensed Practical Nurses Act.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the healthcare team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, with rotating shifts and weekends required. The successful candidate will be required to maintain a high level of physical fitness and be able to perform moderate to heavy physical effort.
