Vertex is seeking a full-time, permanent Emissions Compliance Expert to join its team in Calgary. This pivotal role will be at the forefront of Vertex's environmental innovation, managing and overseeing all aspects of emissions regulatory compliance for clients.

About the Role

This position involves developing comprehensive emissions compliance programs leveraging advanced technologies. The successful candidate will stay ahead of curve by monitoring changes in emissions regulations, advising internal staff on their impact, and preparing detailed reports to clients and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement cutting-edge strategies for ensuring federal, provincial, and local regulatory compliance related to air emissions, verifications, and validations.
  • Maintain ISO 14065 accreditation procedures to ensure compliance with rigorous emissions verifications, audits, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support emissions management, ambient air quality monitoring, and fostering cross-functional teamwork.
  • Provide technical guidance and training on emissions regulations, air quality standards, and compliance.
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 15 years of experience in emissions regulatory compliance, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, provincial, and local emissions and air quality regulations.
  • Experience with air quality monitoring and emissions reduction technologies.
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary, estimated to be around $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
