Job Description

General Motors is seeking a highly skilled Technical Team Lead to join our team. As a Technical Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of software developers in the design, development, and deployment of embedded systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software developers in the design, development, and deployment of embedded systems.
  • Develop and maintain software development processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
  • Ensure the reliability of data transmission in distributed systems.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of relevant software development experience in embedded systems.
  • Experience with CI/CD technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools, particularly Fluent Bit and OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience in software test automation (Linux/Unix shell scripting, Python, JUnit, GTest).
  • Experience in software containerization (Docker and Kubernetes).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience developing in Android, Linux, and/or QNX.
  • Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
  • Knowledge of telecommunication networks and security.
  • Experience with edge computing, cloud services, and IoT technologies.
  • Familiarity with Service Oriented Architectures and Microservice principles.
  • Knowledge of major automotive vehicle systems.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation information is a good faith estimate only. It is based on what a successful applicant might be paid in accordance with applicable provincial laws. The compensation may not be representative for positions located outside of British Columbia, Prince Edward Island, or Nova Scotia.

The salary range for this role is CAD 119,900. The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
