Job Overview

This role reports directly to our President & CEO, reflecting the strong emphasis placed on human resources within our organization. As Chief Human Resources Strategist, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of human resource functions, including policy development, recruitment, labour relations, legal compliance, organizational development, technical training, and health and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-level human resources concepts and tools, such as core competencies and career development processes.
  • Formulate and champion the HR vision, mandate, and strategies within our overall business plan.
  • Coach and advise management and employees on personnel activities.
  • Ensure deployment of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Develop effective recruitment practices and participate in the recruitment and hiring of staff.
  • Help build and maintain employee morale and enable our organization to adapt to change.
  • Identify legal requirements and government regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate corporate organizational development programs.
  • Manage technical training activities across operations.
Performance Deliverables

The following deliverables are expected from this role:

  • Develop a consistent labour policy across all manufacturing plants.
  • Prepare an HR strategic plan that clearly outlines key priorities, in collaboration with our CEO.
  • Familiarize yourself with our company's business and industry to contextualize HR activities.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 5-10 years of broad-based and progressive experience in a general human resources leadership role in industrial environments.
  • Ability to communicate in French is a definite asset.
  • Demonstrated success in leading a strategic HR function.
  • Proven leadership and management skills with knowledge of current industry best practices.
  • Able to grow the HR function as required and work effectively in a fast-paced culture.
Salary Range

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, based on experience.
