Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking an experienced professional to join our Financial Sector Regulation and Policy division as a Manager, Division Operations. This critical role is essential to the strategic and operational success of our division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational and Business Management
    • Lead the division's budgeting and business planning processes, overseeing the Centralized Administrative Service (CAS) and managing Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) requests.
    • Develop and implement operational strategies to support the division's goals and objectives.
  • Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) Support
    • Provide operational support and recommendations to the ADM, coordinating the implementation of decisions and assisting in developing the division's operations plans.
    • Collaborate with the ADM to identify and address operational issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Executive Director/Branch Support
    • Facilitate actions and resolutions, coordinating human resource management and reviewing division processes for improvements.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the division's operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Communications Management
    • Facilitate and review the flow of information within the division, overseeing Action Requests (ARs) and ensuring timely responses.
    • Develop and implement communication strategies to support the division's goals and objectives.
  • Leadership and Employee Development
    • Supervise ADMO executive support staff and support their professional development.
    • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the leadership and management skills of division staff.

Requirements

  • Relevant post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Significant experience in operational management, business planning, and administration.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
