Job Opportunity

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a seasoned Commercial Director to join our Corporate Commercial & Risks Management team. This role will be based in either Quebec or Ontario, with other locations in Canada also considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct bid reviews for major projects and support bid teams with escalated reviews and approvals.
  • Collaborate with project teams during negotiations on major projects, leading as required.
  • Monitor and support major projects' performance and strategy from a commercial standpoint, including contract notifications, contract management, and change management.
  • Establish and implement tools, processes, and monitoring KPIs to support project teams in achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with other key project support functions, including Project Delivery/Controls, Risk, Procurement, Legal, Finance, Health & Safety, and more.
  • Participate in reviews of major projects and contribute to the elaboration of WSP Global Inc.'s key commercial principles/positions.
  • Prepare and deploy training on commercial principles, positions, and governance, including the Bid/No Bid process and best practices.
  • Act as an active contributor in the WSP Global Inc. Commercial Network and, as needed, delegate to the Senior Vice President, Commercial & Risk.
  • Support the updating and upholding of WSP Global Inc.'s commercial governance and data analytics and reporting on bids and projects metrics.
Requirements
  • P.Eng., Finance, or Legal degree, or other similar relevant designation.
  • 10+ years of industry experience in supporting engineering and construction projects, including opportunity selection, partnerships, proposals, contracts negotiation, project delivery, commercial management, and changes management.
  • Experience in a similar role with engineering/construction major projects and strong experience working in multi-disciplinary teams responsible for the design of major projects.
  • Knowledge of engineering operations and projects, projects financials, projects execution, client, partner, and supply chain management, project agreements, and project documentation.
  • Strong project experience working with technical, financial, legal, risk, and commercial advisors and experience in risks identification, allocation, mitigation, and quantification for large, complex projects.
  • Experience and understanding of partnering and various project procurement.
