Job Summary

The Train Reporting Representative is a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of train and railcar movements. This position is responsible for providing essential data to customers and internal stakeholders, enabling them to make informed decisions about railcar inventory management. The incumbent must identify reporting violations and escalate them to resolve long-term issues. Effective communication with Operational counterparts and internal stakeholders is crucial in this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize sophisticated computer systems to provide accurate and timely reporting of train or railcar movements.
  • Prepare work orders and movement instructions for train crews and Operational personnel, as well as ancillary tasks.
  • Collaborate with Service Delivery to protect service, as required.
  • Communicate with internal parties regarding reporting issues, service exceptions, and special requests.
  • Update various logs, forms, or systems as necessary.
Working Conditions

This role operates in a standard office environment with shift work, including day, afternoon, night, and weekend shifts. On-call schedules may be required, with shift assignments based on seniority. The role demands teamwork, proactive thinking, and tenacity in resolving issues. Prolonged sitting and standing, typing, and computer monitor use are common.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional or customer-orientated environment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal communication, reading comprehension, and writing skills in English (and French).
  • Strong typing skills and accuracy, including experience with Microsoft Office tools or related software.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, email, and internet proficiency.
  • Highly organized and proactive, with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Display ethical behavior and strict adherence to courtesy, honesty, and responsibility.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, identify trends, and effectively communicate findings to increase reporting accuracy and procedural efficiencies.
