Job Title: Employment Counsellor

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Employment Counsellor to join our team at the Developmental Disabilities Association. As an Employment Counsellor, you will work with clients to identify their career goals and develop a plan to achieve them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments to identify clients' strengths, weaknesses, and career goals
  • Develop and implement individualized career plans to help clients achieve their goals
  • Provide job search support, including resume writing, interview preparation, and job placement
  • Collaborate with community partners to provide employment opportunities and support
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of career plans and make adjustments as needed
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as career development, counselling, or social work
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations
