Project Management Role in Aerospace Engineering

Bombardier is currently seeking a skilled Project Development Manager to join our Aerospace Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing projects and activities related to major milestones for one of many existing and/or new platforms.


This role involves managing cross-functional teams in the establishment of scope, schedule, and budget of projects. You will lead and coordinate Engineering Change planning, ensuring completeness and harmonization with stakeholders. Your responsibilities will also include working closely with technical experts, business leaders, suppliers, and customer representatives to ensure adherence and compliance of projects scope, schedule, and budget.


Key Responsibilities

  2. Manage projects and activities related to major milestones for one of many existing and/or new platforms.
  3. Manage cross-functional teams in the establishment of scope, schedule, and budget of projects.
  4. Lead and coordinate Engineering Change planning, ensuring completeness and harmonization with stakeholders.
  5. Work closely with technical experts, business leaders, suppliers, and customer representatives to ensure adherence and compliance of projects scope, schedule, and budget.
  6. Manage priorities between projects and activities, complete strategic schedule analysis, and communicate and harmonize these priorities.
  7. Identify and report on risks and lead risk mitigation planning and execution.
  8. Prepare and provide visibility of budget requirement/resource allocation.
  9. Prepare and present visibility reports for the various levels of the organization.
  10. Coordinate Integrated Product Development Team (IPDT) cross-functional reviews.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have an Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent working experience, with 5-8 years in project management or aerospace. You should be familiar with Program/Project Management processes and principles, and have sound aircraft technical and/or manufacturing experience. Previous experience in structural and/or systems development would be an asset.


You should demonstrate a professional attitude and superior communication skills, as well as excellent organizational, time management skills, foresight, accuracy, attention to detail, and commitment to objectives and responsibilities. You should also have a natural leadership and proactive attitude with the ability to manage multiple priorities, and be self-motivated, autonomous, enthusiastic, and results-oriented.


Your effective problem-solving skills with the ability to make good decisions to move projects along to meet or exceed the targets, and your good computing skills; proficient in MS Office and experience with MS Excel and MS Project is an asset.
