Job Summary:
The Compliance Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring Toronto Hydro's compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements. This position is responsible for managing the company's risk exposure and ensuring that all processes and systems are in place to mitigate potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Compliance: Interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with non-compliance of identified requirements.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement process improvements to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Internal and External Audits: Lead internal and external audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and identify areas for improvement.
- Vendor Management: Ensure that all major vendor partners are compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Communication: Communicate with various stakeholders, including internal teams, external auditors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Education: University degree in Law, Public Policy, Accounting, Business Administration, or Engineering.
- Experience: Three years of experience in a regulatory, legal, operations, audit, or process-related function.
- Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to interpret regulatory and legal requirements from an operational perspective.
