About the Role

Flex-N-Gate, a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, is seeking a skilled Electrical Systems Specialist to join their team. As a vital member of the organization, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of electrical control systems and equipment in a fast-paced moulding facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain electrical control systems and equipment, including relay logic, PLC controls, motor controls, moulding equipment, and conveyor lines.
  • Ensure all electrical/electronic equipment is in a production-capable state, performing routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Connect, disconnect, and re-connect electrical/electronic equipment in the production facility, adhering to Canadian Electrical Code requirements.
  • Design and build simple control systems and panels, interpreting electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Install feeds to new machinery, ensuring seamless integration into existing systems.

Requirements

  • Hold a 442A Industrial Electrician License (additional 309A & 309D licenses are an asset).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the manufacturing industry, with a strong background in electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Possess excellent trouble-shooting, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to interpret electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi) is an asset, as is the ability to interpret hydraulic and pneumatic drawings and circuits.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meeting tight deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in injection moulding and/or automotive manufacturing.
  • Shift work is required, with the majority of the position being on the midnight shift.
