Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Food Processing Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Summer Fresh Salads Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental monitoring and protection activities, compiling records for analytical studies, and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct or assist in environmental monitoring and protection activities
  • Compile records for analytical studies
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Assist in developing programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards
  • Assist in the development of chemical engineering processes, studies of chemical engineering procurement, construction, inspection and maintenance
  • Assist in design and fabrication of experimental apparatus
  • Develop and conduct programs of sampling and analysis
  • Conduct safety training programs
Requirements
  • Food Safety Certificate
  • MS Excel
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in food and beverages industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and repetitive tasks
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, and ability to distinguish between colours
  • Standing for extended periods and physically demanding work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees
  • Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Recruits newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster
  • Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition
  • Offers mentorship programs that pair newcomers and/or refugees with experienced employees
  • Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees
  • Participates in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people
  • Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers
  • Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations
  • Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Facilitates access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers
